Newton Geiszler’s End Scene Costume - Jacket

This is a pretty hefty jacket. Unfortunately the labels have been cut out so I can’t identify it. It’s actually pretty grey in real life, I guess due to the dust and weathering they’ve done to it. It has lots of grazing on the elbows and a tear in the shoulder.

I’d say it’s also a size medium, as I usually buy size small or extra small in men’s clothing and it’s a little big on me in the shoulders and arms.

After my find in the pants, I searched the pockets and found… a tissue. WOW THANKS CHARLIE. :P

Newton Geiszler’s End Costume - Tie

This is gonna sound crazy, but I think the tie is my favourite part of the whole outfit.

GUYS, IT’S NOT BLACK. Well, at least this one isn’t, and I don’t think we’ll find out about the other one as I don’t think it was sold with the other full outfit. :-( I looked at promo pics and you can’t see any stripes on it though. Hmm.

It looks as if it was made out of a shirt actually, as there are button holes on the tiny short piece (unless they are there for another reason??). It has striped blue/grey horizontal patterns on it, mostly on parts that are hidden from view (under the collar and on the back of the tie) but you can see the pattern even under the weathering on the front too.

It’s also really soft. It feels silky like a tie does, but then… not quite. It does look like it’s been sewn out of something else too when you look at the stitches.

Oh Oh! This is incredible!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your pictures and findings. Interesting about the color! @v@ I think I can explain the button holes in the tie! I have a thick tie that has similar button holes on the small end. It’s so that you can put the buttons of a shirt through the holes and keep the back of the tie flush to your torso while wearing it. They very creatively called it a “Button-Down Tie”hehe :) Here’s a pic of said tie:

Newton Geiszler’s End Costume - Pants

Firstly, Charlie Day’s legs are tiny. I couldn’t stop giggling when I unpacked them. They must be about a 28/29 inch leg. I’ll have to measure to confirm. The waist size is written inside as a 32 inch waist.

And…the pants mystery can now be put to rest! XD Turns out they are actually a dark blue with pinstripe. The prop auction description said they are corduroy, but I don’t agree, as the lines aren’t raised or anything. They are a stretchy jean-like fabric. The button at the front and label inside says that they are from Lip Service, which made me cackle a lot. I’ve done a bit of research and I’m pretty sure they’re Railroad Moto Junkie Needle Jeans. That’s the only place that I can find them online at the moment, and only in that one size, unfortunately.

They are also dirty and ripped, from his fall during the baby Otachi scene.

The funniest thing about these? I turned them upside down and a 50 Yuan note fell out of the back pocket, which I’m assuming was Charlie’s at some point. XD

I am strangely comforted by the fact that he is a person with a waist larger than his inseam. problems of short stocky peeps like myself.  You are a blessing for posting this information and the photos! <3 And congratulations, I am really excited for you!! :D Are you planning on keeping the note or exchanging it for your currency? (assuming it’s a real note?)

This ring lets blind people read non-Braille books

One of the problems with Braille is that it’s typically printed in specialist books aside from the copies created for sighted people, meaning that those with sight difficulties can’t borrow their friends’ books and need to seek out the bookstores and libraries that cater for them. In the past, we’ve seen projects such as Thailand’sMr. Light and Mr. Dark — which uses special typography to enable the blind and non-blind to read the same book. Now the FingerReader initiative from MIT provides visually impaired readers with a wearable ring that can scan written text and read it out loud. READ MORE…

A tip from your favorite nurse

(that’d be me)

Always have eggs in your fridge

You just never know when someone will split their head open

Or cut their finger while cooking

And so on

See that membrane there?

While the blood is gushing - hold pressure and crack open an egg

Peel that there membrane off and put it on the wound (continue holding pressure)

The membrane will harden and keep the wound closed until you can get to the ER for stitches

If you even need them that is

Nature: 1, Band aids: 0

You’re welcome.

I did some research on this (because I do that now, fucking science get out) and it seems that this was done in the early 1900s somewhat frequently. It was used as a way to treat just about any kind of skin wound, from burn to cut to in at least one case an ulcer. It actually helps the wound heal not by preventing blood loss but by replacing part of the skin tissue and helping it grow.

It also helps in healing scars and reducing their visibility.

Whoah science.

Neato.

Supercool.

Also, if you have a splinter, smack one of these things on there and it will draw it out of your skin. No more shitting around with pliers.

it will also suck the poison stuff out of mosquito bites and stop them from being itchy

woaaah i didnt know!! awesome stuff :D

Did not know the mosquito bite or splinter thing!  EGGS—IS THERE ANYTHING THEY CAN’T DO?

They cant fix the economy

I want to try all these now….
